In-Gauge of Polk County has been conducting incomparable concealed carry classes, in Polk County, for over 6 years. During such time, we have trained over 5,000 law abiding citizens how to defend their lives and the lives of their loved ones. We receive numerous word-of-mouth referrals, with students traveling from as far north as Atlanta, Georgia and as far south as Fort Lauderdale and Naples to attend our classes.
In-Gauge of Polk County is represented at more retail sporting goods stores than any other forearms training group in central Florida.
However, we have not done a good job in getting the word out that we conduct more than basic ‘concealed carry’ classes.
Although our basic, 5-hour concealed carry training class (CCW 101), is head and shoulders above and beyond any other ‘concealed carry’ class conducted locally and far exceeds the minimum standard for applying for a Florida concealed carry license, we consider it a basic, orientation, self-defense, training class.
We encourage you to contact your local law enforcement agency and ask if they provided firearm training beyond a basic State qualification concealed carry class.
Ask that same agency or any gun shop concealed carry class provider if they train you in:
drawing from a holster or a pocketbook,
the various methods of carrying a concealed firearm,
the clearing of firearm malfunctions and jams,
the utilization of cover and concealment or
the tactical use of a shotgun for home defense.

In-Gauge of Polk County’s ‘Active Shooter’ Defense – Live-fire range training.
We recently graduated another class of ‘active shooter’ defenders. These people will have your back while you are shopping, filling your gas tank or attending church services and you will never know they are there. They have been trained to carry a deadly weapon in public.
This group completed 15 hours of ‘active shooter’ defense training that included: situational awareness, mental preparedness, the drawing from a holster, advanced live-fire handgun training, that included the use of cover and concealment, moving, shooting, reloading, moving between cover and concealment, managing firearm malfunctions, while engaging single and multiple assailants and Stop The Bleed emergency wound care training.
Regardless if you have already taken a concealed carry class or you have a Florida concealed carry license, contact us for official NRA firearms training that will prepare you to defend your life and the lives of your loved ones.
If you haven’t yet taken a concealed carry class or have little to no training, we can take you from the novice, beginner shooter to the advanced level in shorter time than you think. Firearms training is all we do and we are good at it.
We train you to defend your life and the lives of your loved ones.

Sheriff Judd recommends people learn the proper way to handle a firearm and then obtain a concealed carry permit to protect themselves.
Bill Kemp, The Ledger September 27, 2020
How to prevent becoming a victim
Sheriff Judd recommends people learn the proper way to handle a firearmand then obtain a concealed carry permit to protect themselves.
“If you are dedicated to learning how to handle a firearm and you recognize a mistake with a firearm can be a fatal mistake, you should get your carry permit and always carry a firearm to protect yourself, your loved ones and your home,”
Judd said. “But you have to know how to handle it and shoot it. If they are disciplined, it is certainly a safety tool that will keep them alive in a bad situation.”
