CONSTITUTIONAL / PERMITLESS CARRY – A good arguement

Keep in mind, it is constitutional ‘carry’ not constitutional ownership.

It is all well and good until it is your 9-year-old son, daughter, neice, nephew, grandson or granddaughter. Maybe not everyone should carry a gun in public.

Florida – Two children shot during Nassau County road rage incident, fathers are charged with attempted murder

Two children were rushed to the hospital after being shot Saturday on U.S. 1 after their fathers were shooting at each other during a road rage incident.

October 10, 2022

NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. — A 5-year-old girl was shot in the leg and a 14-year-old girl was shot in the back Saturday while riding in separate vehicles on U.S. 1 in Callahan just after 6 p.m. Their injuries were the result of their fathers shooting at each other during a road rage incident, Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper said Monday during a news conference.

“What is scarier than one crazy driver with a gun? Two crazy drivers with a gun,” Leeper said.

The drivers the sheriff was referring to are William Hale, 36, and Frank Allison, 43.Both men are charged with attempted murder. They didn’t know each other before the incident that a witness described as a “cat and mouse game,” Leeper said. The witness told a 911 operator that the men were driving erratically and “brake-checking” each other. That’s when a driver gets in front of another vehicle and applies the brakes.

The sheriff said a black Dodge Ram with five occupants driven by Hale of Douglas, Ga. pulled up along side the grey Nissan Murano driven by Allison of Callahan and began shouting at him to pull over.

The right front passenger in the Nissan put her hand out of the window and “flipped off” the Dodge Ram with her middle finger, Leeper said. A plastic water bottle was then tossed from the Dodge Ram into the Nissan.

Allison then grabbed his Sig Saur 45mm handgun and fired one shot at Hale’s truck before speeding away, Leeper said. The bullet went through the right rear door hitting the 5 year old in the leg.

Hale told authorities he realized his daughter was shot after Allison sped off. Hale pursued the Nissan and began firing several shots from his Glock 43 9mm handgun out of the driver’s window with his left hand, Leeper said adding that the shooter emptied the clip.

Three rounds hit the Nissan with one of the bullets going through the rear of the car striking a 14-year-old girl in the back causing her lung to collapse.

Florida – Man shoots woman’s SUV 7 times because she ‘cut him off’

He said he fired several rounds into the vehicle trying to hit its tires and disable it. The man faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, discharging a firearm from a vehicle and shooting into an occupied vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies brought him to the Volusia County Branch Jail and he was given a bond of $40,000.

CONCEALED CARRY CLASSES – Winter Haven, Lakeland, Lake Wales, Bartow

Fast, Convenient, The Minimum You Need

You can waste your time, money and the loss of your sense of welbeing by attending a concealed carry class conducted in a rented hotel room or . . .

You can attend a class the both qualifies you for applying for a Florida concealed carry license and trains you in the use of a firearm to defend your life and the lives of your loved ones

FLORIDA RESIDENTS – A concealed carry license is NOT required

What those who conduct ‘concealed carry’ classes do not want you to know:
In Florida . . .

  • NO license is required to purchase or own a firearm.
  • NO license is required to transport a loaded firearm in your vehicle. (However, one must know how to do so legally.)
  • NO license is required to use a firearm to defend your life and home.
  • NO license is required to take a firearms training course to learn how to use a firearm.

Why do we inform you of this?

We are not in the ‘concealed carry class’ business.  Rather, we are a non-profit organization that conducts self-defense, firearms training.   We want you to be trained in the safe handling, use and storage of your firearm.

Unless specifically stated that firearm/handgun training is included, NO firearm/handgun training is conducted in a ‘concealed carry‘ class. Basically, NO ‘concealed carry‘ class includes any significant handgun training.

Possessing a concealed carry license does not mean you are trained to carry a deadly weapon in public.  Rather, it only demonstrates that you paid the State of Florida $97 and passed a background check.

We want you to be trained in the handling, use and firing of a firearm for the defense of your life and the lives of your loved ones.

All our firearms training classes exceed the training requirements for applying for a Florida concealed carry license.  Upon successful completion of any of our firearms training classes, an official certificate of training is issued good for applying for a Florida concealed carry weapons license.  No other class or training is required for applying for a Florida license recognized in 37 states.

Even if you do not possess a concealed carry license or you never intend to apply for one, allow us to train you in the purchasing, handling, use, firing and storage of your firearm.

Considering taking a concealed carry class? You may want to consider this . . .

There is more to owning and using a gun than just knowing how to pull a trigger.

Not all concealed carry classes are alike.

Unless specifically stated otherwise, “concealed carry classes” do NOT teach how to handle and use a handgun.

They do NOT teach:

  • the handling of a handgun
  • the firing of a handgun
  • the loading, unloading and reloading of a handgun
  • how manage handgun malfunfunctions

To learn the techniques listed above, you have to take a handgun/pistol training class.

Maybe you or someone you know already took a concealed carry class. Did it look like this . . .

or like this?

If the “concealed carry” class you took did not include a trip the the range and the firing of a real handgun, using live ammunition, firing a minimum of 50 rounds, you attended a certificate mill class, that in all likelyhood, was more of an insurance sales seminar, not a handgun training class.

There is more to owning and using a gun than just knowing how to pull a trigger.

Others conduct classes to qualify people to apply for a concealed carry license. We conduct classes to not only to qualify people to apply for a concealed carrry license, we train people to carry a firearm in public.

We don’t want to train everyone who wants a concealed carry license.  We only want to train those who are serious about learning how to defend their life and the lives of their loved ones.

If your concealed carry class did not look like the photos above, you may want to contact us for real, concealed carry, handgun training. Training that prepares you to defend your life and the lives of your loved ones.

Not all concealed carry classes are alike.

Push to get citizens trained to ‘Stop the Bleed’ to save lives of severely injured.

Push to get citizens trained to ‘Stop the Bleed’ to save lives of severely injured

By: Rebecca Petit – ABC Action News-Tampa Bay May 19, 2022

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — On the heels of yet another mass shooting, this time in Buffalo, N.Y., there’s a nationwide push to teach people how to “Stop the Bleed.”

Training courses took place all day Thursday as part of National Stop the Bleed Day.

You don’t have to be an EMT or a medical professional to save someone’s life who is bleeding severely. The “Stop the Bleed” course teaches how to recognize a life-threatening bleed and intervene effectively.

“A lot of craziness is going on in the world and I just like to be prepared for my family and friends,” Aaron Travers said.

After many shootings and crashes witnesses are on the scene before first responders get there. A bystander may be the one who’s most likely to save a bleeding victims their life.

Travers drove from Osceola County to Polk County to take the lifesaving course.

“Everybody should know because the more people that do know the less opportunity for loss of life,” he said.

Robert Dummett hosts these free “Stop the Bleed” training classes. He’s the chief training officer and executive director at In-Gauge of Polk County, a non-profit organization focused on firearms safety.

“An individual can bleed to death in less than three minutes,” Dummett said.

Data shows the average emergency response time for the arrival of EMS personnel to an emergency scene is seven minutes.

Dummett said learning simple techniques can improve a bleeding victims’ chances of survival.

“Packing the wound and direct pressure on the wound and if that’s not sufficient to stop the blood loss, then we want to apply a tourniquet,” Dummett said. “We’re going to tighten this until all blood flow stops. I equate it to turning off a faucet for a garden hose.”

The goal is to get more people trained in the “Stop the Bleed” program, similar to the popularity of CPR training.

“The American college of surgeons created this stop the bleed course in the wake of the sandy hook tragedy years ago,” Lakeland Regional Health trauma surgeon Dr. Andrew Gaugler said. “However, it’s not just these national tragedies that make the news where people have the opportunities to save lives.”

Dr. Gaugler said Lakeland Regional Health has trained 506 people this year using “Stop the Bleed” kits. He said there’s also a federal push to make the kits more widely available.

“If you walk through any public building, an airport, a post office, a shopping mall, you’ll see along the walls there are signs for AED’s which are a life saving device used for cardiac arrest and CPR,” Gaugler said. “I think the perfect location for a bleeding control kit would be in the location of any of those devices.”

Empowering everyday people to provide life-saving care, until emergency personnel arrives.

You can order a your own “Stop the Bleed” kit online. Stop the Bleed Month is held each May. To find more information, including where to find a ‘Stop the Bleed’ course near you, click here.

Continuing to repeat the same errors expecting a differnt result can be a very expensive proposition at today’s ammunition prices.

We have recently seen the above photo appearing on Facebook, by a firearm training provider. The sad thing is, they are using it to promote their hundgun training classes.

  1. If you cannot detect the errors appearing in the above photo, maybe you should consider taking an NRA firearms training class.
  2. If you feel you can afford the price of ammunition and continue making the same mistakes attempting to improve your shooting performance, than disregard the errors pointed out in the photo above.
  3. If you want to learn how to dramatically improve your shooting performance in one session, contact us for NRA firearms training. Its more than just training taught by an NRA instructor.
  4. The cost of one box of ammunition will pay for the cost of one class that will improve your skills beyond your expectations.

Winter Haven Gun Show

The February 26th 2022 Winter Haven Gun Show was the worst!

The gun show, put on by USA Gun Shows of Florida and conducted at the Winter Haven Garden Conference Center, February 26th and 27th, was by far the worst. The venue, at least the areas used, was too small. One area used was the hotel’s bar. Yes, the bar.

A vendor actually displayed his goods on the bar, while standing behind it. A bar complete with drink glasses on the shelves. The only thing missing were the liquer bottles. At the other end of the room was the fast food counter and grill. Dining tables were available for those who wished to grab a sandwich and cold drink.

There was totally inadequate vendor space. Two people could hardly walk by one another between tables. The other room being used, which was actually appropriate for the given use, was too small and the AC was not working. Again, there was little aisle space for people to walk.

For the few vendors there were, there was lots of ammunition for sale, but very few guns, new or used.

Regarding parking: That was another issue . . . totally inadequate. Parking was a nightmare. The venue was a hotel with hotel guests and adjacent businesses and property owners were not cooperative.

USA Gun Shows of Florida does not need to return to Winter Haven or Polk County for that matter.
