You Took A Concealed Carry Class. Now What?

We train you to defend your life and the lives of your loved ones.

If your concealed carry class did not look like this, you did not take a true concealed carry class . . .

In-Gauge of Polk County’s ‘Active Shooter’ Defense – Live-fire range training.

We recently graduated another class of ‘active shooter’ defenders. These people will have your back while you are shopping, filling your gas tank or attending church services and you will never know they are there. They have been trained to carry a deadly weapon in public.

This group completed 15 hours of ‘active shooter’ defense training that included: situational awareness, mental preparedness, the drawing from a holster, advanced live-fire handgun training, that included the use of cover and concealment, moving, shooting, reloading, moving between cover and concealment, managing firearm malfunctions, while engaging single and multiple assailants and Stop The Bleed emergency wound care training.

Regardless if you have already taken a concealed carry class or you have a Florida concealed carry license, contact us for official NRA firearms training that will prepare you to defend your life and the lives of your loved ones.

If you haven’t yet taken a concealed carry class or have little to no training, we can take you from the novice, beginner shooter to the advanced level in shorter time than you think. Firearms training is all we do and we are good at it.

The Surge Continues – January 2021 Gun Sales Up Nearly 80 Percent

January 2021 now holds the record for most NICS checks conducted by the FBI in any single month.

Shooting IllustratedGuy J. Sagi : Thursday, February 4, 2021

More than 2.2 million firearms were sold in the United States in January, according to an estimate from Small Arms Analytics & Forecasting (SAAF). The number, which represents a 79-percent increase when compared to the same period last year, is based on the volume of records processed through the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS). Purchases made by people with a valid carry permit in regions that do not require the duplicative check, and some private transactions, are not reflected in the federal figures.

The news comes on the heels of 2020 shattering all previous high-water marks for gun purchases in the nation. SAAF estimates that of the 39,695,315 NICS checks conducted last year, roughly 23 million were firearm-sale related. Administrative use of the system, which includes concealed-carry permit application and renewal, account for the rest of the volume.

January 2021 now holds the record for most NICS checks conducted by the FBI in any single month. A total of 4,317,804 were processed. The system began operation in 1998, but until last month failed to reach the 4 million mark, despite December and June of 2020 coming in at 3,937,066 and 3,931,607, respectively.

Most experts agree last year’s upswing was fueled largely by home- and self-defense concerns due to the ongoing pandemic and periods of civil unrest, although politics contributed significantly to January’s spike, according to SAAF Chief Economist Jurgen Brauer.

“January 2021 certainly started off with a sales ‘bang’ due to the turmoil surrounding the confirmation and inauguration of Mr. Biden as the new U.S. President,” he said. “The 79-percent year-over-year increase, however, was not unprecedented—an even higher increase, of just over 100 percent, was experienced in January 2013, the month Mr. Obama’s second presidential term began.”

By comparison, the total number of NICS checks performed in January 2013 came in at only 2,495,440, roughly 1.8 million fewer than last month.

People have called wanting to know what makes this class a “minimum standards” class and how does it differ from a class conducted at a gun show, gun shop or an online class.

The answer is:

  • Our 3 hour ‘minimum standards‘ class is more comprehensive, covering more relevant material and up-to-date current events.
  • Our classes are both informative and entertaining

  • You will neither be bored or fall asleep in one of our classes.
  • We use modern, up-to-date audio-visual equipment
  • This class fulfills the training requirement for applying for a Sate of Florida concealed carry license.
  • Although this class includes the firing of a real, defensive caliber handgun, it does not include handgun training. That is what makes it minimum standards‘.

• Gun safety and the fundamentals of handgun handling
• Self-Defense strategies
• What guns to purchase for concealed carry and self-defense
• Applying for and maintaining your Florida concealed carry license

Considering A Concealed Carry Class? Consider this . . .

We conduct training that prepares you to defend your life and the lives of your loved ones.

Why anyone would take a a concealed carry class, gun training class or a self-defense class conducted at a place that sells used bicycles and chainsaws or in a rented hotel room.

What value do you place on your life and the lives of your loved ones? The value of a used lawn mower?

If you want more from your ‘concealed carry’ training than just a piece of paper that allows you to apply for a concealed carry license, than take only official NRA firearms training classes. Not just a class taught by someone who claims to be an instructor.

Having a concealed carry permit is of no benefit . . .

Possessing a concealed carry license provides you no benefit if you do not know how to safely carry and use a handgun.

Having a concealed carry license does you no good if you do not know how to safely carry and use a handgun.

As a matter of fact, carrying a gun and not being trained how to use it can get you very seriously hurt or worse.

Pastor Shot, Killed With His Own Gun
Starrville, Texas – Jan. 03, 2021
Pastor McWilliams, the church’s 62-year-old pastor opened the door to a bathroom and found Woolen, the suspect, hiding inside.
A scuffle ensued, and McWilliams drew a handgun, the sheriff said. Smith said McWilliams told Woolen to lie on the floor.
“The pastor got distracted and Woolen (the suspect) lunged at him. The suspect was able to get the firearm out of the pastor’s hands and shot him.
Woolen shot and killed the pastor, shot at his wife but missed and shot a third person who had non life-threatening injuries.
Sheriff Smith said the other church member who was shot was also armed, but he never got a shot off at the suspect.

Things you should know before taking a concealed carry class:

  • Not all concealed carry classes are alike
  • There is no standardized concealed carry class curriculum
  • In Florida, anyone can teach anything and call it a ‘concealed carry class’
  • Typically, ‘concealed carry classes’ do not provide any gun training.

Some things you should know about firearms and firearms training in Florida:

A concealed carry license is not required to:

* take a firearms training class

* purchase a firearm

* own a firearm

* legally transport a firearm

You should not put off receiving firearm safety training and the training to use a gun because you do not have a concealed carry license.

In reality, you should get trained in the use of a firearm before you purchase a gun and apply for a concealed carry license.

If the class you are considering does not state that it is an NRA firearms training class, it is not an official NRA training class.

We have all the necessary equipment and supplies necessary for complete self-defense, firearms training. Shortages being experienced elsewhere have not affected our training. Nothing has been cut or abbreviated from our training classes.

See our class schedule and register for a class at: REGISTER FOR A CLASS

All our firearms training classes involve the use of true defensive caliber guns. We never use youth training guns in our firearms training classes.

We train you to defend your life and the lives of your loved ones.
