Basic Home Defense

We train you to defend your life and the lives of your loved ones.

In-Gauge of Polk County will be conducting a Basic Defensive Sh@tg@n Class SATURDAY, MARCH 13th.

Cost: $75 All equipment and supplies included. There are no hidden costs.

Seating is limited.

Pre-registration is required. No walk-ins permitted.

A nationally recognized, official NRA certificate of training will be issued upon successful completion.

Successful completion of this class fulfills the training requirement for applying for a Florida concealed carry weapons license. No further training is required. Yes, you read that is correctly.

Our next available 5-hour Handgun/Concealed Carry License Qualification Training Class is Wednesday, February 24th. Participation is still available. This class teaches you how to use your handgun. This class includes 1 hour of live-fire range training under the direct supervision of certified NRA instructors. You will fire a minimum of 50 rounds of ammunition. Successful completion of our 5-hour concealed carry class qualifies the participant for our advanced level, Active Shooter Defense – NRA Defensive Pistol class.

The cost of this 5-hour handgun/concealed carry license qualification training class is $60.

Active Shooter Defense – Next class: February 10th

Having a concealed carry license is of no benefit if you do not know how to defend your live and the lives of your loved ones.

Saturday, January 20th, we graduated another class of ‘active shooter’ defenders. These people will have your back while you are shopping, filling your gas tank or attending church services and you will never know they are there. They have more than a concealed carry ‘permit’.

They have been TRAINED to carry a deadly weapon in public.

This group completed 15 hours of ‘active shooter’ defense training that included: situational awareness, mental preparedness, the drawing from a holster, advanced live-fire handgun training, that included the use of cover and concealment, moving, shooting, reloading, moving between cover and concealment, managing firearm malfunctions, while engaging single and multiple assailants and Stop The Bleed emergency wound care training.

If your concealed carry class did not look like this, you did not take a true concealed carry class . . .

Having a concealed carry license is of no benefit if you do not know how to safely and correctly handle a gun.

So, you have finally gotten into that concealed carry class that you have been waiting for only to discover it did not teach you how to use a handgun.

It should be understood that ‘concealed carry classes‘ do NOT teach handgun use, handling or firing. For the most part, they only teach the State laws pertaining to the carrying of firearms and other weapons and where you can and cannot carry a weapon in the state of Florida.
